Welcome to My Costuming and Research Site
January 22, 2015
I've been doing some clean-up and adding new pictures behind the scenes this week.
A couple of people have nudged me about this and I just haven't taken the time to post it before. Jason in Hollywood has some great pictures of one of Lucilla's costumes from Gladiator without any of the wraps or accessories while it was on display at Universal Studios. You can find the whole set over at his blog: Hollywood Movie Costumes & Props. There is a lot more fabric in this dress than I expected!
I'm also adding some new to me images that I've picked up from the Korean drama Hwang Jin Yi.

For Dragon*Con 2013 I put together one of Effie Trinket's costumes from Catching Fire. I think it turned out rather well and I've finally gotten around to putting some making of details up on my costumes page. You can check it out here: Effie Trinket.

I've been doing some behind the scenes clean-up and adding a few pictures to research pages here and there.
I also noticed that Lucilla's black dress from Gladiator was auctioned off again last month by Julien's Auctions, with a great new picture that really gives a better look at the whole thing.

For Halloween 2010 I put together a Jane Jetson costume. You can find pictures and details over on my Costumes page.

I just recently discovered that Lucilla's black dress from Gladiator was part of the Profiles in History auction this past summer. The images and description have me even more confused about how this dress works!

About a million years ago I started compiling images from the 1996 film Evita and I've finally started to get them online. Madonna apparently had 85 costume changes! And I can guarantee you that I don't have images of them all. It's not quite organized, but now I have an Evita page.

For DragonCon 2010 I put together a replica of Eowyn's refugee outfit. You can see my version and some of my research on my Costumes page.

You may have noticed that I've had to disable hotlinking on this site. How does that affect you? Well, it shouldn't, but images hosted here can no longer be posted directly to other sites. Honestly, it's considered bad manners anyway and you shouldn't post images from anyone's website to another site. It eats up my bandwidth. Links back to me should still work and I'll happily fiddle with this new protection if anything goes awry on the site.
I have absolutely no ownership of any of the studio stills and screencaps on this site. You are always free to copy them to your own computer and host them on a free site like Photobucket, Flickr, or ImageShack. Images that I do own, images of my own costumes, are a different story. Please ask before using those.

I've finally added some instructions for how to tie Lucilla's sash. Every year around Halloween I wonder why it's not on my site. You can find them here: Lucilla's sash.
I've also added a page for my Cap'n Crunch costume, which I made for a Halloween party this year.

I've been working on my costumes for Dragon*Con this year. You can check out my updates on Kaylee's teddy bear coveralls (from Firefly) and Talia Winter's olive suit (from Babylon 5) over on my Costumes page.

I added about 50 new images for Hwang Jin Yi this weekend and did some general maintanence of that section. There are far too many costumes in the series for me to find images for all of them, let alone break them into separate pages, but I have tried to get some of the most important costumes. Here's a sample of some of the new images.

I've added a page for the uniforms from A League of their Own.
The Propstore of London has Commodus' white tunic and cape from his return to Rome/senate scene up for sale. You can find the listing here: http://www.propstore.com/product-Commodus--Joaquin-Phoenix--Tunic-and-Robes.htm.
July 26, 2009
I've added a ton of images from the South Korean TV series Hwang Jin Yi.

I've been trying to track down what Lucilla wears over the dress on her Party Frock and her Blue Germania costume. I finally have some screencaps of what I think I'm seeing. It seems to be a gold or brown corset, though I don't have any concrete details. I think I'm seeing a corset with gold embroidery and a center front opening. I suspect that it's meant to be some sort of armor for her, as she wears it the whole time she's in Germania and then we never see it again. You can see it best in this images:

I've moved all of my completed costumes over to the new page, now. The only thing left to move are my in progress costumes. I should also get working on some of those costumes.

Premiere Props currently has William's armor from A Knight's Tale up for sale. http://www.premiereprops.com/product_info.php?products_id=6680

All of my A Knight's Tale pages are now up and running along with my God research page. That concludes the research portion of the transfer!
May 29, 2009
My Beauxbaton's page is now up. I recently discovered that HatShapers.com has a "Flower" shaper that seems to work very well for the Beauxbaton hat.
May 29, 2009
Commodus has now been transferred over, along with new images of his White Armor, which is part of The Prop Store of London's collection.
May 29, 2009
I've transferred all of the Gladiator pages except for Commodus. His page should be up in the next day or so. You can find them through the Research tab at the top of the page or just go here.
One of the little seen Gladiator costumes has been on display at Universal Studios Hollywood. I've found some pictures at this blog but if anyone has others, I would love to feature them (with credit, of course)!
